Join Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Dick Chandler Ballfield. On Saturday, April 8th at 10:00 am sharp, over 5,000 eggs will be ready for the children to hunt. There are even prizes available for all age groups for the children who find a special egg.

The fire danger has dropped to high with the recent rains and cooler temperatures. This means recreational campfires are now going to be allowed on private property on a day-to-day basis. Outdoor debris burning will remain closed and a date to open it has not been set. The forecasted heat this week will continue to dry out fuels and increase the rate of spread any fire starts. The Fire Danger on Crooked River Ranch has now been increased to Extreme. This means that all fires are prohibited on private property within the Fire District. This includs recreational or camp fires.

On Wednesday, June 1st, Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue will close all outdoor debris burning for the summer within Crooked River Ranch. This includes burning in open piles, using burn barrels, and using propane torches for weed burning.

Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC), in a collaborative effort with the Jefferson County Fire Chiefs, is offering private landowners the opportunity to apply for funding in an effort to minimize fire danger as outlined in the Jefferson County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). With cooler and wetter weather lowering the fire danger, Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue will open outdoor debris burning on Friday, October 15th. Before performing any burning there are two steps that need to be taken.

With the fire danger no longer at extreme, Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue will begin allowing campfires after dusk on a day-to-day basis beginning on Saturday, October 2nd. Campfires fires include those used for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking, warmth or similar purposes and does not include debris burning which is still closed.
